We’re excited to introduced Furi Anga to the Qilin camp. Furi Anga alias Antti Viitamäki is a deep soul explorer  from Finland, Scandinavia. Listening to his music one gets transported into a melancholic fairy world – sometimes true and beatiful, sometimes dark and grotesque. He gets heavy influences from ascetic finnish nature.

Kiat

As one of South East Asia’s pioneers of the drum & bass sound, Kiat has been championing the darker experimental side of electronica with quality breaks, rolling bass-lines and leftfield influences over many years.

Together with fellow Singaporean Ash, they has also been featured as “Leader of the Nu-Skool” in recognised international drum & bass magazines KNOWLEDGE and ATM. In addition, his productions have aired on BBC’s ‘Goldie’sEssential mix’ as well as 1XTRA, BBC’s online urban music radio station.

Not one to be confined to drum and bass, he’s constantly experimenting in the studio with new sounds in different genres of music.

Currently, he has music released on labels such as Function, Soul:r, Hospital, Audio Decay, IM:Ltd as well as contributing to Alleycat’s Kokeshi label amongst others. Kiat’s tunes are now sought after by the top shelf DJs in the scene – Goldie, Doc Scott, Marky, Marcus Intalex, A-sides, S.P.Y, Storm,  Digital, Alleycat, Bailey, Vapour, Gremlinz, London Electricity and Fabio.

Izaak Stern is on a journey across musical tangents, where nothing is prescribed and nothing is certain. With an experimental modus operandi (which often results unconsciously in an “experimental” end product), the producer views beatmaking as an exploratory process. In the vein of Prefuse 73 or Flying Lotus, the warmth of vinyl samples are often juxtaposed against an electronic mindset, and the end-result is almost never repeated.
From the bedrooms of Singapore, to the speakers of London, Izaak Stern is a faceless sound emerging from the depths of the underground, with an experimental flavour that the New York Post says “will leave you cotton-mouthed for more.”
Late 2009 brings a first official release with Qilin Music, alongisde artists such as Kiat (Singapore), Muted (Iceland), Sinistarr (London), and Morphy (Glasgow), amongst others.
